Surviving bad weather always feels good. The sense of satisfaction is so much greater. Especially those times when the weather gods relent just as you get to your goal and so allow you to see what you've conquered
I think I've talked about the other Gassan. The mountain castle in Yasugi, Shimane, which gives its name to a local sake brand
Yes. When we started the ascent we had lightning and thunder, but it died down enough, and after that it was just stinging rain and wind so strong we couldn’t go very far at times. But that was all intermittent. Overall it was a very satisfying day!

We had all the good guidance we needed. Something worth remembering: we are never alone in the mountains. 🤍 Thank you, Tim (and Rick), for your care.
Thank you for joining us Frances! It was an honour to train with you!!
That was quite an adventure, Tim. Glad you "enjoyed" it.
Thanks Gianni! Yes I thoroughly enjoyed it!
