I’ll have to get this book I’m so in love with Japanese cooking and cuisine although it has been tough enjoying cooking with a toddler. 😅

Oh haha, read the article again. Yes! Eating wild Japan is a great read, I especially enjoyed learning about the horse chestnuts, you’ll be surprised :)

Horse chestnut was in a vitamin I took to heal my SIBO. I had a lot of gut issues and that was one ingredient that healed me!

Woah! Wow, that’s amazing. It actually played a massive role in saving Japan from famine way back when. Even though it is a heavily involved process in making it edible, it was a reliable source of food when they had crop failure. I personally love it, had me some tochimochi just yesterday :)

Do you drink Koji? 麹? I think it's another name for Amazake, but I could be wrong.

We have two under three, our youngest is only 8 months old, and my wife swears by it. She's already lighter than she was before our first daughter was born.

We have this stuff: https://sakurakojiya.com/product/#kouji and the person who makes it is a friend who also gave birth late last year!

Yes! My husband bought miso that has Koji in it. It’s fermented and you can put it on vegetables and other foods. I should learn more on how to prepare it. I’m trying to find amazake that has no sugar as well but it’s tough.

Oh the Zen eating book! The author is a friend, she’ll love you for it :) I’m not sure how applicable it would be for a toddler though, can always try!! And will definitely be helpful when the get older!
